Help a bitch out…..

Posted by Terri on Sunday Feb 24, 2013 Under Uncategorized

So I know I keep saying that I am going to start blogging with some sort of regularity, but I hope this time it will work.

Hey it could work look how long it took me to quit smoking and I finally did. SO I am trying again.

My good friend Maria has designed me an awesome new header for my blog starring my awesome Chick graphic (including Lexi) designed by Clara Wallace and two very adorable cardinals which represent my Mom and Grams as they are ALWAYS with me.

So what I need from all of you is ideas on what to blog about…

My plan is to try and blog at least 2-3 days a week. Some will be stuff like links to pages I like or to a video I like and some might be current events stuff where I give my humble opinion even if you don’t like it 🙂 I might do some book or movie reviews and maybe will have some guest bloggers if some of my friends have something to say.

My blog will always be open for comments of all opinions even ones different than mine I only as that you be respectful of me and others on my blog because if you become mean and bitchy I will delete and block you from my blog.

We do not all need to agree but we do have to be respectful and if the world followed that rule things would be so much better. I have no authority through out the world but I do have it here and I will boot your ass if you do not follow this rule.

January books read

Posted by Terri on Friday Feb 3, 2012 Under Books Read

So in an effort to keep track of how many books I read I am going to post each month the books I have read. Here are the books for January 2012. I am not a fast reader and many times I busy with work and keeping up on TV shows and don’t get to read so much. I am hoping this will help to get me reading more. I will also try to add my own little review of the books as well. I am only going to post books that are completed before the end of the month.

Mockingjay (The Hunger Games, Book 3)

Suzanne Collins

Publication Date: August 24, 2010 | Series: The Hunger Games (Book 3)

Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has survived the Hunger Games twice. But now that she’s made it out of the bloody arena alive, she’s still not safe. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge. Who do they think should pay for the unrest? Katniss. And what’s worse, President Snow has made it clear that no one else is safe either. Not Katniss’s family, not her friends, not the people of District 12. Powerful and haunting, this thrilling final installment of Suzanne Collins’s groundbreaking The Hunger Games trilogy promises to be one of the most talked about books of the year.

What I thought: So this was the 3rd and final book to The Hunger Games series I was very torn about this book. I did not hate the book, but I did not enjoy it as much as I did the first 2 books in the series. It was odd because it felt so different than the first 2 books to me. I was kind of confused while reading it as it almost seemed like a book in another series with the same characters almost like a fan fiction if you will. Again I did not hate it, but I did not like some of the things that happened in the book. I will not discuss those so as not to spoil the book for anyone who might not have read it, but feel free to comment on it or ask about it in the comments if you want to know more.

Sexiest Vampire Alive (Love at Stake Series)

Kerrelyn Sparks

Publication Date: September 27, 2011 | Series: Love at Stake

The secret is out . . . Vampires do exist!

When a video reveals to the world that vampires live among us, it’s up to "young" vamp Gregori Holstein, VP of Marketing, to persuade the U.S. government to declare the video a hoax. But first the president wants a favor, one that requires Gregori to spend forty-eight hours in very close contact with the First Daughter.

Abby Tucker would rather spend her nights in a lab than attend her father’s state dinners. She’s dedicated her life to finding a cure that will save her dying mother and needs only two more ingredients. To find them, she’ll have to venture into the most dangerous region of the world—with a vampire. Her Armani-clad escort may be Undead, but he still makes her heart race. And the greatest danger won’t be the predatory hordes lying in wait for them; it will be her undying desire for the Sexiest Vampire Alive.

What I thought: I LOVE Kerrelyn’s books they light, cute, sexy, romantic, and funny. This is the eleventh book in the series and I have liked them all. This is a series where the characters are like one big happy dysfunctional family and although each book is based on a different main character the books also revisit many characters from past books. Again these books are light and fun and a great read if you like your vampires with a lot of romance.

Design Me a Blog Header and win an Amazon Gift Certificate……

Posted by Terri on Friday Oct 14, 2011 Under Contests

So I am working on blogging ideas but in the meantime….

I don’t much like my blog header. I don’t know exactly what I want although I know I want the graphic of Lexi and I, and the name of the Blog as well. I am pretty sure I am going with A Girl, A Dog and A Blog, but if someone comes up with something better than I might change it. So here are the details….

The current header is 226px high and 961px wide.
New design should be at least that size, but no bigger than 400px high and 1024px wide.
The header you design should be your own design NOT stolen from someone else.
The header should include the graphic of Lexi and I, I can supply a Hi Res copy upon request.
The header should include the title of the blog.
You are welcome to enter as many times as you like.
Entries should be e-mailed to me at funstomper@terrises.com with a subject of Blog Header Contest – please DO NOT POST ENTRIES here on the blog !!!!!
I will post all entries on my blog so if you don’t want it posted do not send it to be entered.
I will take suggestions from everyone on winners but I and I alone will pick the winner(s)

I will pick 1 winner for the header which will become property of terrises.com. You will receive an electronic gift certificate for Amazon.com in the amount of $25.00
In addition IF and only IF someone comes up with a better name for the blog (and it does not have to be the design winner) I will award that person an Amazon Gift Certificate in the amount of $15.00.

You must provide a valid email address to send the gift certificate to if you are a winner.

I am not going to put a date on closing this contest as I have no idea how long it will take to find one I LOVE.

Again enter as many times as you like and feel free to send contest onto friend, relatives and anyone else you think might be interested.

I also reserve the right to make any changes to this contest at any time !!

So going to try this blogging thing again…

Posted by Terri on Saturday Oct 1, 2011 Under Uncategorized

Keep trying to blog on a regular basis, but I keep blogging once in awhile and no one wants to follow a blogger that barely posts.

I am going to try and keep up and hope that you all will try and help. You can help by sending me ideas or suggestions on what to blog about. I will be blogging about my opinions on many things like books, movies and TV.

So away we go and feel free to post here or on my Facebook with ideas.
